Missy Elliott Says “Snip ‘Em!”
Portsmouth Native Urges Hometown Shelter To Fix Pound Pups To Stop Overpopulation Problem
When award-winning hip-hop artist Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliott found out that last year alone, her hometown of Portsmouth, Virginia, was forced to kill more than 2,308 cats and dogs in shelters and that nationwide the number of animals killed in shelters is 4 to 5 million, she decided to do something about it. The hip-hop star with a heart jumped into action by writing a letter to the vice mayor of Portsmouth explaining why it’s important to spay and neuter all animals before they’re adopted out.
