September 27, 2005, 1 p.m.: Another PETA Rescue Team Dispatched to Louisiana!
PETA has dispatched yet another team of animal rescue workers and animal caretakers to St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana. Weeks ago, local officials had been shooting dogs there, but a week ago, PETA's starting rescue team became the first humane agency to access the devastated parish.
Currently, rescued animals are being sheltered in nothing more than a field in this parish, which is among the areas hit the hardest by Hurricane Katrina. Countless more dogs and cats remain in collapsed and flooded houses.
Please help Hurricane Katrina's animal victims in this parish and elsewhere.
