September 14, 2005, 7 p.m.: Stars Urge Officials to Take Action to Protect Animals in Disasters in PETA Ad
Alec Baldwin, Alyssa Milano, P!nk, Dennis Rodman, Judy Reyes, Jorga Fox, Pamela Anderson, and Constance Marie—one by one, they stepped in front of the camera at PETA’s 25th Anniversary Gala and Humanitarian Awards Show, where 100 percent of the proceeds of the silent auction benefited our Animal Emergency Fund, and echoed the same sentiment: "Hurricane victims have lost enough—let them keep their animals."Like the rest of America, the stars are heartbroken by the images of animals abandoned to die after Hurricane Katrina flooded New Orleans. But we can learn from these horrors and take action today so that American citizens and their animals are never again so betrayed by our government. Please urge your senators and your representative in Congress to ensure that animals are included in future disaster response plans.
